A tropical starchy tuber endemic to Indonesia, most often ground and used in its powdered form. This powder can be used in both savory and sweet dishes, often acting as a thickening agent for sauces and doughs. It can also provide a gluten-free alternative to other flours.

Arrowroot has a great collection of B vitamins including folate and B6, these are accompanied by a wide variety of minerals including iron and copper.
